In the grounds of Sommerton House in County Dublin built into a mature parkland. The Course has been built to USGA standards and is playable all year round due to superb drainage irrigation built under the course.

There are 10 Acres of Lakes which come into play on 7 Holes, in fact the 16thand 18thpar 3's are played right over lakes.

Castleknock Golf Club the driest parkland course you'll play. Open all year round with no mats or temporary greens, if other courses are closed we are open. Our greens are constructed to the highest USGA recommendations and are subtly contoured and seeded with creeping bentgrass allowing for fast greens all year round.
Just 20 minutes from Airport and 7km from the city centre, adjacent to Dublin's famous Phoenix Park, with spectacular views overlooking Liffey Valley and the Dublin Mountains Castleknock Golf Club is Dublin's finest golfing address.

There is a chipping green of 800 sq.metres and a practice green of sq. 1,000 metres.

Members Achievements

Castleknock Golf Club were Runners-Up in the All-Ireland Final of the Irish Senior Cup when they lost out to Castletroy Golf Club by 3½ matches to 1½ at Carlow Golf Club on Thursday 29th August 2024. They were led out by Ruairi Kennelly who lost his match by 4 and 3 against Daragh O'Siochru, he was followed by Paul Coughlan who had a 3 and 2 win against Dean McMahon, next on the tee was Ian O'Connell who lost his match against Andrew McCormack, in the penultimate match  Quentin Carew lost his match by 1-hole against Gordon Sillett and the bottom match of Mark Doogue against Patrick Bermingham was halved when called-in.
They met Galgorm Castle Golf Club in the All-Ireland Semi-Finals in the morning and recorded a 3-matches to 2-matches against the Co. Antrim Club. Ian O'Connell led them out and went down by 2-holes against Harris Fleming, he was followed by Paul Coughlan who had a 1-hole win against Michael Reid, next on the tee was Ruairi Kennelly who lost his match against Jordan Hood by 4 and 3, in the penultimate match Quentin Carew recorded a 4 and 3 win against Cole Henderson and in the bottom match Mark Doogue had to go up the 20th before securing the point against Patrick Dallat and their place in the decider.
The previous day they met Trandragee Golf Club in the Quarter Final and returned a 3½ matches to 1½-matches win against Co. Armagh Club, First on the tee was Paul Coughlan who put the first point on the board with a 2 and 1 win against William Smal, Quentin Carew followed up with a very comfortable 7 and 6 win against Ross Dutton, next on the tee was Ian O'Connell who had a 1-hole win against Jamie Stothers, the penultimate match of Mark Doogue against James Hewitt was halved when called-in and in the bottom match James Mitten lost his match by 5 and 4 against Stefan Greenberg.

Castleknock Golf Club reached the All-Ireland Semi-Finals of the Barton Shield when they lost out to Moyola Park Golf Club on the 20th Playoff hole on Friday 30st August 2024 at Carlow Golf Club, in the top match Paul Coughlan with James Mitten finished all-square after 18-holes against Christopher Selfridge with Corey Scullion and the bottom match of Quentin Carew with Mark Doogue against Luke Lennox with Dean Crawford went all the way up the 20th before they relinquished the point to the eventual Green Pennant winners.
They met Belvoir Park Golf Club in the All-Ireland Quarter-Finals in the morning and recorded a 4-hole win against the Co. Down Club in the top match Mark Doogue with Quentin Carew finished 4-up through 17 against Rory McConnell with David Shaw and in the bottom match Paul Coughlan with Ian O'Connell were 1-up through 16 against Marc Norton with Scott Jones.  

Paul Coughlan was selected on the Irish Men’s Home Internationals that took place at Murcar Links, Scotland between 7th and 9th August 2024. The others on the team were Colm Campbell (Warrenpoint Golf Club), Hugh Foley (The Royal Dublin Golf Club), Ryan Griffin (Ballybofey & Stranorlar Golf Club), Thomas Higgins (Roscommon Golf Club), Josh Hill (Galgorm Castle Golf Club), Sean Keeling (Roganstown Golf Club), Liam Nolan (Galway Golf Club) and Luke O'Neill (Connemara) they were managed by Damien Coyne from Tuam Golf Club, coached by Michael Collins and captained by Niall MacSweeney from Athenry Golf Club. 

Paul Coughlan was selected on the Irish Mid-Amateur Team Championship to represent Ireland at Golf de Chiberta, France on 11th to 14th September 2024. Other members of the team were Colm Campbell (Warrenpoint Golf Club), Brian Doran (Millicent Golf Club) and TJ Ford (Co Sligo Golf Club) and they were Captained by Niall MacSweeney from Athenry Golf Club.

Paul Coughlan was selected on the Leinster Interprovincial team played at PGA Slieve Rusell Golf Club from 3rd to 5th July 2024. Others on the team were Brian Doran (Millicent Golf Club), Gerard Dunne and Evan Farrell (Co. Louth Golf Club), Keith Egan (Carton House Golf Club), Eoin Murphy (Dundalk Golf Club), Adam Smith (Mullingar Golf Club) and Jake Whelan (Grange Golf Club) they were managed by Ian Mooney from Wicklow Golf Club and captained by Harry McAlinden from Bray Golf Club.

Castleknock Golf Club reached the All-Ireland Quarter-Finals of the Barton Shield at Dun Laoghaire Golf Club on Thursday 7th September 2023 when they lost out to Lisburn Golf Club by 4-holes. Lisburn went on to win the All-Ireland Final the following day when they beat Carton House by 1-hole.
In the top match, Paul Coughlan with James Mitten ended all square against Chris Moulds with James Mulholland and in the bottom match; Quentin Carew with Ian O'Connell lost their match by 4-holes against Aaron Marshall with Ryan Symington.

Castleknock Golf Club won the Regional Final of the Leinster North Barton Shield on Sunday 13th August 2023 when they beat Forrest Little Golf Club 2-up

Quentin Carew was selected on the Carey Cup team that played the Metropolitan Golf Association selection at Winged Foot, New York from 19th and 20th October 2023, others on the team were Marc Boucher (Carton House Golf Club), Jack Hearn (Tramore Golf Club), Darcy Hogg (Belvoir Park Golf Club), Jack McDonnell (Forrest Little Golf Club) and Robert Moran (Castle Golf Club).

Quentin Carew & Paul Coughlan were selected on the Leinster Interprovincial Championship team at Moyvalley Golf Club from Tuesday 29th August to Thursday 31st August 2023.
Other members of the team were Marc Boucher (Carton House Golf Club), Robert Brazill (Naas Golf Club), Evan Farrell (Co. Louth Golf Club), Patrick Keeling (Roganstown Golf Club), Eoin Murphy (Dundalk Golf Club) and Jake Whelan (Grange Golf Club).
They were Captained by Harry McAlinden (Bray Golf Club) and Managed by Michael Maher (Luttrellstown Castle Golf Club). 

Castleknock Golf Club qualified for the All-Ireland Barton Shield deciders played at Tramore Golf Club on Thursday 1st September 2022.
They were drawn against Roscommon Golf Club in the All-Ireland Quarter-Finals and won their match by 2-holes.
First on the tee was Paul Coughlin with Quintin Carew who had a 3-hole win against Allen and David Hill they were followed by Ian O’Connell with Ruairi Kennelly who lost their match by 1-hole against Simon Walker with Enda Daly.
They met Cork Golf Club in the All-Ireland Semi-Final on the Friday and had a 5-hole win against the Lee-Siders.
First on the tee was Paul Coughlin with Quintin Carew against Ian O’Rourke with Brian Kelleher who had a 4-hole win and were followed by Ian O’Connell with Ruairi Kennelly who had a 1-hole win against Gary O’Flaherty with Morgan Cain. 
They met fellow Dublin Club in the All-Ireland decider and lost out by 4-holes to the Rathfarnham Club.
First on the tee was Paul Coughlin with Quinten Carew who lost their match by 1-hole against Alex Gleeson with Ross McKeever the bottom match of Ruairi Kennedy with Ian O’Connell against Peter McKeever with Jack Walsh went 3-holes to Castle and with it the chance of Castleknock’s First Club Green Pennant.

Paul Coughlan was selected on the Leinster Interprovincial team play at Moyvalley Golf Club from 23rd to 25th August 2022, the others on the squad were Keith Egan  and Marc Boucher (Carton House Golf Club), Robert Brazill (Naas Golf Club), Charlie Denvir (Elm Park Golf Club), Alan Fahy (Bray Golf Club), Eoin Murphy (Dundalk Golf Club) and Jake Whelan (Grange Golf Club) they were managed by Michael Maher from Luttrellstown Castle Golf Club) and captained by Captain: Harry McAlinden from Bray Golf Club. 

Quentin Carew won the Irish Amateur Close Championship at Headfort Golf Club on Wednesday 17th August 2022 when he beat Hugh Foley of The Royal Dublin Golf Club on the 20th Hole, what a win, considering he shot rounds of 76 & 75 in the qualifiers, nobody say him coming, well done Quentin.

Paul Coughlan were selected to represent Leinster in the Men’s Interprovincial Matches at Shannon Golf Club from 25th to 27th August 2021, the others on the squad were Keith Egan and Marc Boucher (Carton House Golf Club), Alan Fahy (Dun Laoghaire Golf Club), Hugh Foley (The Royal Dublin Golf Club), Robert Moran (Castle Golf Club), Caolan Rafferty (Dundalk Golf Club) and Jake Whelan (Grange Golf Club) they were managed by Michael Delany from Laytown & Bettystown Golf Club and Captained by Kevin McIntyre from Ardee Golf Club.
