Members Achievements

Ballykisteen Golf Club were Runners-Up in the All-Ireland Final of the Fred Perry Trophy at Westport Golf Club on Sunday 24th September 2023 when they went down to Connemara Isles Golf Club by 3½-matches to 1½-matches.
In the top match Michael Greensmith with Paddy Maloney lost their match by 2 and 1 against Noel O’Tighernaigh with Seosamh O’Cualain, they were followed by P. J. Carey with William Hartnett who lost by the minimum against Gearoid O’Cualain with Vinny O’Lorcain, next on the tee was Pat Ryan with Raymond Kelly who lost their match against Liam O’Maolaodha with Sean O’Cualain by 4 and 3, in the penultimate match Tomas Donegan with Tom Halton had a 3 and 2 win against Ciaran O’Flatharta with Padraic O’Conghaile and in the bottom match of Pat Irwin with James Keane was halved against Peadar O’Flatharta with Eamonn O’Briain.
They met Dunmurry Golf Club in the All-Ireland Semi-Final the previous day and recorded a 3½-matches to 1½-matches win against the Co. Antrim Club.
They were led out by Michael Greensmith with Paddy Maloney who won their match against Brian McMurray with Ken Parkinson by 3 and 2, next on the tee was PJ Carey with William Hartnett who had a confortable 4 and 3 win against Colin Mills with John White, they were followed by Pat Ryan with Kevin O’Hora who lost their match against Neil Forsythe with Jon Dickenson by 2 and 1, in the penultimate match of Tomas Donegan with Tom Halton was recorded as a halve against Maurice Ferguson with Steve McCollam when called-in and the bottom match of Pat Irwin with James Keane was a 2 and 1 win against Chris McQuay with David Glasson.         
Ballykisteen Golf Club won the Final of the West Munster Fred Perry Trophy on Saturday 29th July 2023 at East Clare Golf Club when they beat Dooks Golf Club by 4-matches to 1-match.

Caitlin Shippam was selected on the Irish Girls’ team for the Fairhaven Trophies at Fairhaven Golf Club, Lythan Saint Annes, UK that took place from Friday 28th April to Sunday 30th April 2023 the others on the squad were Anna Abom (Edmondstown Golf Club), Hannah Guerin (Royal Tara Golf Club) and Emma Fleming (Elm Park Golf Club) they were coached by Johnny Foster and managed by Brenda Craig.

Caitlin Shippam was selected on the Munster Women’s Interprovincial team played at PGA Slieve Rusell Golf Club from 3rd to 5th July 2024. Others on the team were Emma O'Driscoll (Ballybunion Golf Club), Mairead Martin (Kanturk Golf Club), Clodagh Coughlan (Douglas Golf Club), Valerie Clancy (Killarney Golf Club), Anna Dawson (Tramore Golf Club) and Aideen Walsh (Lahinch Golf Club) they were managed by Sinead Enright from Macroom Golf Club and captained by Mary Dowling from Mallow Golf Club.

Gordon Sillett was selected on the Irish Boys’ team for the Quadrangular Matches played at Kennemer Golf & Country Club in Zandvoort, Netherlands on 5th and 6th April 2023, the others on the team were Finlay Eager (Royal Belfast Golf Club), Calum Duane (Naas Golf Club), Sean Reddy (Douglas Golf Club), Adam Fahey (Seapoint Golf Club) and Paul Fletcher (Galgorm Castle Golf Club) they were coached by Ian Kearney and captained by Liam Troy.

Lauren Kelly & Caitlin Shippam were selected on the Munster Women’s Interprovincial Championship team at Moyvalley Golf Club from Tuesday 29th August to Thursday 31st August 2023.
Other members of the team were Valerie Clancy (Killarney Golf Club), Paula Walsh (Donerail Golf Club), Clodagh Coughlan & Karen O’Neill (Douglas Golf Club) and Mairead Martin (Kanturk Golf Club).
They were Captained by Mary Dowling (Mallow Golf Club) and Managed by Sinead Enright (Macroom Golf Club).

Young Caitlin Shippam was selected on the Munster Girl’s Under-18 Interprovincial Team played at Ballykisteen Golf Club on 21st and 22nd August 2023.
The other members of the team were Lauren Bradfield (Waterford Castle Golf Club), Lucy Grattan (Tralee Golf Club), Hayley Martinez (Douglas Golf Club), Ella Moynihan (Tralee Golf Club), Sadhbh Bullock (Castletroy Golf Club) and Ciara Waldron (Naas Golf Club).
They were Captained by Kiara O’Keeffe (Tipperary Golf Club) and Imelda Fitzpatrick  (Cahir Park Golf Club).

Gordon Sillett was selected on the Irish U-16 Boys team that faced England at Carton House Golf Club from 7th to 8th October 2023, others on the squad were John Doyle (Fota Island Golf Club), Finlay Eager (Royal Belfast Golf Club), Adam Fahey (Portmarnock Golf Club), Evan Monaghan (Tullamore Golf Club) and Charlie Smyth (Slieve Russell Golf Club) they were coached by Ian Kearney and captained by Liam Troy from Thurles Golf Club.

Young Gordon Sillett was selected on the Munster Under-16 Interprovincial Team played at Ballykisteen Golf Club on 21st and 22nd August 2023.
The other members of the team were Sean Reddy & Barry O’Connor (Douglas Golf Club), Luke Carey & Jack Whelan (Limerick Golf Club) and Danny Lyne (Lahinch Golf Club).
They were Captained by John Carroll Snr. (Bandon Golf Club) and Managed by (Cork Golf Club).

Gordon Sillett was selected on the Irish U-18 High performance panel for 2023/2024, the others on the panel were Sean Keeling and Mark Cadden (Roganstown Golf Club), Donnacha Cleary (Tipperary Golf Club), Fionn Dobbin (Malone Golf Club), John Doyle (Fota Island Golf Club), Finlay Eager (Royal Belfast Golf Club), Mark Gazi (Tralee Golf Club), Evan Monaghan (Tullamore Golf Club), Jack Murphy (Douglas Golf Club) and Charlie Smyth (Slieve Russell Golf Club).   

Ballykisteen Golf Club qualified for the Quarter-Finals of the All-Ireland Jimmy Bruen Shield at Slieve Russell Golf Club on Thursday 8th September 2022.
They were drawn against Killymoon Golf Club and lost their match by 4½-matches to ½-match.
First on the tee was Ben Downey with P. J. Carey who lost to Ronan Fowley with Conor McElhone by 2 and 1, they were followed by John Horan with Colm Riordan who lost their match against Matthew Kempton with Adrien McKenna by 7 and 5, next on the tee was Gavin Downey with Darragh Hanley who had a similar result against Mark Meenan with Ian Hughes, the penultimate match of Declan O’Leary with Michael Fitzgerald against Ian Hutchinson with Rory Duffin went 6 and 4 to the Tyrone Club and the bottom match of Darren Dunlea with Dara Heffernan against Ryan Murphy with Paul McElhone was halved when called-in.       

Caitlin Shippam  was selected on the Girls’ European Team Championship at Oddur, Iceland from 5th to 9th July 2022, the others on the squad were Olivia Costello (Roscommon Golf Club), Marina Joyce-Moreno (Club de Golf Llavaneras), Rebekah Gardiner (Clandeboye Golf Club), Róisín Scanlon (Woburn Golf Club) and Katie Poots (Knock Golf Club) they were coached by Chris Jelly and captained by Kate Gallagher from Castle Golf Club. 

Caitlin Shippam was selected on the Irish Girls’ Team to play Wales at Cardigan GC from the 19th and 20th April 2022, the other members of the squad were Olivia Costello (Roscommon Golf Club), Kate Dillon (Oughterard Golf Club), Rebekah Gardner (Clandeboye Golf Club), Hannah Guerin (Royal Tara Golf Club) and Katie Poots (Knock Golf Club) they were managed by Chris Jelly and captained by Kate Gallagher from Castle Golf Club.

Caitlin Shippam won the Munster Women's & Girls Senior Open Championship with rounds of 79, 76 & 73 at Tralee Golf Club in April 2022.

Caitlin Shippam and Lauren Kelly  were selected on the Munster Women’s Interprovincial team play at Moyvalley Golf Club from 23rd to 25th August 2022, the others on the squad were Clodagh Coughlan and Aoife Ni Thuama (Douglas Golf Club ), Corrina Griffin (Killarney Golf Club), Aideen Walsh (Lahinch Golf Club) and Paula Walsh (Doneraile Golf Club) they were managed by Sinead Enright from Macroom Golf Club and captained by Jean O’Driscoll from Muskerry Golf Club.

Gordan Sillett was selected on the Munster Under-16 team to participate in the Interprovincial Championships at Hilton Templepatrick Golf Club from 18th and 19st July 2022, the others on the squad were Sean Reddy and Sean Deasy (Douglas Golf Club), Matthew Kelleher and John Doyle (Fota Island Golf Club),  Mark Gazi (Tralee Golf Club) the non-travelling reserve was Paddy Quill from (Cork Golf Club) they were managed by Seán Barry from Fota Island Golf Club and captained by Anthony Nash from Lee Valley Golf Club.

Caitlin Shippam was selected to represent the Irish Girls’ team at the Home Internationals at Woodhall Spa, England from 4th to 6th August 2021, the others on the squad were Olivia Costello (Roscommon Golf Club), Emma Fleming (Elm Park Golf Club), Rebekah Gardner (Clandeboye Golf Club), Anna Dawson (Tramore Golf Club) and Katie Poots (Knock Golf Club) they were coached by Chris Jelly and captained by Anita McCaw from Royal County Down Golf Club.   

Caitlin Shippam was selected to represent Ireland at the Under-16 International match against England played at Douglas Golf Club from 9th and 10th October 2021, the others on the squad were Adam Challoner (Galway Bay Golf Club), Olivia Costello (Roscommon Golf Club), Kate Dillon (Oughterard Golf Club), Fionn Dobbin (Malone Golf Club), Hannah Guerin (Royal Tara Golf Club), Sean Keeling (Roganstown Golf Club), Marina Joyce Moreno (Club de Golf Llavaneras), Kate Fleming (Elm Park Golf Club), Darcy Hogg (Belvoir Park Golf Club) and Jack Murphy with James Walsh (Douglas Golf Club) they were coached by Chris Jelly and Paul Kiely and captained by Anita McCaw from Royal Co. Down Golf Club and Kevin Raftery from Forrest Little Golf Club.  

Lauren Kelly and Caitlin Shippam were selected to represent Munster in the Ladie’s Interprovincial Matches at Shannon Golf Club from 25th to 27th August 2021, the others on the squad were Corrina Griffin (Killarney Golf Club), Paula Walsh (Doneraile Golf Club), Clodagh Coughlan (Douglas Golf Club), Aideen Walsh (Lahinch Golf Club) and Rachel Thompson (Cork Golf Club) they were managed by Sinead Enright from Macroom Golf Club and captained by Orla Barry from Limerick Golf Club.  

Lauren Kelly was selected to represent Munster on the Girls’ Under-18 Interprovincial Team at Mount Wolseley Hotel and Golf Resort on October 9th and 10th October 2021, the others on the squad were Corrina Griffin and Alica Burke (Killarney Golf Club), Michelle Sharkey (Monkstown Golf Club), Sadhbh Bullock and Laura Southern (Castletroy Golf Club) and Maisie Breen (Dungarvan Golf Club they were managed by Kiara O’Keeffe and captained by Aoife Lowry from Tipperary Golf Club.

Gordon Sillett was selected to represent Munster on the Boys’ Under-14 Interprovincial Team at Mount Wolseley Hotel and Golf Resort on October 9th and 10th October 2021, the others on the squad were Cian McDonnell (Monkstown Golf Club), Jack Clohessy (Ennis Golf Club), Barry O'Connell with Sean Reddy (Douglas Golf Club) and John Doyle (Fota Island Golf Club) they were managed by Dave Taylor from Muskerry Golf Club and captained by Phil Cooney from Lee Valley Golf Club.  

Ballykisteen Golf Club won their first Green Pennant at Millicent Golf Club in September 2017.

They beat Dromoland Castle Golf Club in the Munster Final at Fermoy Golf Club on Sunday 27th August 2017. They were lead out by William Hanly with Pat Toomey who had a 2 and 1 win over P J. Conway with Brian Foundy next on the tee Raymond Flynn with Denis Ryan who halved their match against Declan Murphy with John Shaughnessy when called in, they were followed by Brendan O’Keeffe with Mark Timmons who recorded a very convincing 6 and 5 win over Martin O’Mahony with Michael Bennett, in the penultimate match Michael Ryan with Adrian Usher had another easy win over George O’Carroll with Hugh O’Neill by 7 and 6, the bottom match of James Keane with Chris Conway was recorded as a halve against Noel Ryan woth John Collins when called in.
It was on to Millicent Golf Club in Co. Kildare to compete in the All-Ireland deciders and were drawn against Connaught Champions Ballina Golf Club in the All-Ireland Semi-Finals where they had another 4 and 1 win over the Mayo team.
First up again were William Hanly with Pat Toomey who beat David Greham with Ollie Bolton Jnr. By 2 and 1, they were followed by Raymond Flynn with Denis Ryan recorded another halve against G. Battle with D. Kavanagh when called-in, next up were Brendan O’Keeffe with Mark Timmons who recorded a 3 and 2 win over Gerry O’Mahoney with Bernarh Hanrahan, in the penultimate match Michael Ryan with Adrian Usher beat Michael Parson with John McManus by4 and 2 and the bottom match James Keane with Chris Conway recorded a halve against D Fox with O Bolton.       
they met Leinster Champions Royal Curragh in the All-Ireland decider, this time they were lead out by Club Captain James Keane with Chris Conway who had a 2-hole win over Stephen Kinneavey with Patrick Mangan, next up were William Hanley with Pat Toomey who had a very comfortable 5 and 4 win over Thomas Powell with Shane O’Callaghan, they were followed by Ray Kelly with Adrian Usher who once again recorded a halve against Ricky Geraghty with John Delaney, in the penultimate match Brendan O’Keeffe with Mark Timmons also recorded a halve against Derek Kelly with Frank Archbold, the bottom match of Michael Ryan with Peter O’Donnell had a very convincing 6 and 5 win over Paul Murphy with Stephen Schwer. They were Captained by Kevin O’Hora.

Ballykisteen Golf Club won the Munster Final of the Jimmy Bruen Shield when they beat Nenagh Golf Club by 3-matches to 2-matches at Killarney Golf Club on Sunday 16th July 2017.
They were lead out by Olly Hodges with P. J. Carey who beat Ray Hurley with Padraig Hackett by 2-holes, next on the tee were David Cartlidge with Sean Calvert who had a 1-holw win over Paddy Kennedy with James Reddan, they were followed by Gavin Downey with Kevin O’Hora who lost their match against Tom O’Gara with Mathew O’Gara by 4 and 3, in the penultimate match Alan Murphy with Denis O’Brien had a very comfortable 6 and 5 win over T.J. Burns with David Hickey and in the bottom match  Michael Kennedy with John Hoare lost out to Morgan Conway with Bernard Hackett by 7 and 6.
They made their way to Carton House Golf Club in Co. Kildare where they were drawn against Connaught Champions Castlebar Golf Club on Friday 22nd September.
They were lead out by Olly Hodges with P. J. Carey who beat Shane Rice with Tommy Lawless by 4 and 3, they were followed by David Cartlidge with Sean Calvert who had a 1-hole win over Shane Quigley with Johan Collins, next on the tee was Liam and Gavan Downey who lost their match by 5 and 3 against Paddy Burke with Ray Prendergast, in the penultimate match Alan Murphy with Denis O’Brien went up the 19th before relinquishing the point against Tom Moylett with Mark Corrigan and in the bottom match Mick Kennedy with James Nolan lost out by 2 and 1 against Kieran Horkan with Colin Dawson.

The Ladies of Ballykisteen Golf Club were runners up in the All-Ireland Junior Foursomes when they went down to Connaught Champions Portumna Golf Club by 2½-matches to ½-match in the decider at Malone Golf Club in 2017.
They were lead out by Catherine English with Neasa Fahy-O'Donnell who lost out to Mary and Brid Kelly by 7 and 5, in the second match Sarah and Mary Toomey recorded a halve when called in against Carmel Cunningham with Bernie Kilmartin and in the bottom match Claire Griffin with Caroline Cussen lost their match against Mary McElroy with Mary M. Madden by 5 and 4.
They won the Munster Final at Cahir Park Golf Club on Saturday 2nd September when they beat Lee Valley Golf Club by 2½-matches to ½-match.
They were lead out by Jane Cowhey with Catherine Murphy who halved their match against Barbara Butler with Rosemary Driscoll when called-in, in the next match Sarah Toomey with Mary Toomey had a 3 and 2 win over Catherine O’Sullivan with Rose Quilter and in the bottom match Catherine English with Caroline Cussen beat Ann O’Flynn with Deirdre Lee by 5 and 3. 

Marian Riordan was selected on the Munster ILGU Team for the Interprovincial's played at Ballybunion Golf Club from 18th to 20th August 2004.

Ballykisteen Golf Club were Runners-Up in the Munster Final of the Pierce Purcell Shield at Douglas Golf Club, to Woodstock who became All-Ireland Champions at Galway on September 6th 2002. The team was Willy Hartnett, Jim Ryan, Noel Collins, John Hartnett, Simon Ryan, Paudie Ryan, Tom McGrath, Denis O'Brien, David Kavanagh, Colm Riordan, Michael Mcguire, Michael Greensmyth, Jim Keane and John O'Dwyer. They were, managed by Killian Slattery.

The Ladies of Ballyskeen Golf Club won the Southern District Champions and were All-Ireland runners-up in the Ulster Bank All-Ireland Ladies Fourball Championship. in 2001, when the team was, Marion Riordan, Josephine O'Donnell, Majella Hallinan, Jane Cowhey, Geraldine O'Carroll, Cliona Finucane, Colette Fitzgerald, Pauline Maher and Charlotte Crowe.

Ballyskeen Golf Club won the South of Ireland Open Mixed Foursomes, in 2002, with Nicholas and Fiona Hayes.

Ballyskeen Golf Club won the South of Ireland Open Mixed Foursomes, in 2000, with Killian Slattery and Clare Finucane.

Ballyskeen Golf Club won the South of Ireland Open Mixed Foursomes, in 1999, with Killian Slattery and Colette Fitzgerald.

Ballyskeen Golf Club won the South of Ireland Open Mixed Foursomes, in 1997, with Stephen and Michael McGrath.

The Ladies of Ballyskeen Golf Club won the ILGU Minor League in 2000, when the team was, Helen Kelly, Eileen Traynor, Marie Gibson, Catherine Murphy, Ann Cullen, Nancy Ruschitzko and Pauline Maher, they were captained by Ger O'Carroll.

They won the Tipperary B League in 1998, when the team was, Catherine Murphy, Mary T. Real, Jane Cowhey, Colette Fitzgerald, Josephine O'Donnell, Charlotte Crowe and Nancy Ruschitzko.

Lady Captain Colette Fitzgerald and her Captain's Prize winner Josephine O'Donnell got through the regional qualifiers of the Volkswagen-Irish Independent Lady Captain's Classic at Limerick Golf Club in August 2001. Colette playing off 15 and Josephine off 22 returned 36 points. They went on to play in the Regional Finals at Druid's Glen on October 1st.

Marian Riordan was Caped for Ireland in 2000.
