Gently undulating and well endowed with mature trees such as Oak, Sycamore, Maple, Lime, Horse Chestnut, Elm, Ash, Douglas Fir, Australian Pine, Beech and Copper Beech, the club is fortunate to have acquired such a site as the old lawns of the Wandersforde Estate."
Pat Ruddy, internationally renowned golf course designer.

History of Castlecomer
There is some confusion as to where and when Castlecomer was first founded. The 1906-7 edition of The Golfing Annual give it as Castlecomer Golf Club, Hon. Secretary, T. Ferguson, Castlecomer Co. Wexford. There is no listing in the Irish Golfers Guide from 1910 to 1916. The GUI records an affiliation date of 4th September, 1906, but nothing more is heard of until 1933 when the present club was founded.
